YOUR ATA MEMBERSHIP CARD ADMITS YOU TO THIS CONVENTION
Please note that all delegates eligible to attend Palliser Convention(members of the A.T.A. employed as full or part-time teachers by boards of member locals as of February lst) will be required to bring their ATA membership cards to convention for admission to all sessions at Palliser Convention. You may be asked to show it in the event a session is full. Members of the A.T.A. employed as full or part-time teachers by boards of member locals as of February lst do not need to sign up at the information desk. If you have lost your ATA Membership Card you can print one by following the directions from this weblink CLICK HERE. For newly hired teachers who can't print the ATA Membership Card, please have your principal write a short note on school letterhead and bring that to the convention information desk and we will issue you a temporary ATA card that admits you to all sessions.
STUDENT TEACHERS, SUBSTITUTES, INVITED GUESTS, AND RETIRED TEACHERS
Student teachers, substitutes, invited guests and retired teachers are admitted free. Please sign up at the information desk to receive a temporary ATA card for admission to all sessions.
OUT OF DISTRICT REGISTRATIONS AND OTHERS
There is information at https://www.pdtca.org/guest-registration.html If you are eligible to attend, please follow the instructions on this page and pay all the appropriate fees. Please sign up at the information desk Thursday morning unless you received an email stating alternate arrangements.
ATTENDANCE AT CONVENTION
The deadline to apply to attend an alternate professional development activity is January 10th. Information is on the web site under the Delegates button - https://www.pdtca.org/alternate-pd-request.html
PRE-REGISTRATION JANUARY 16TH 2023
You must pre-register for some sessions. PRE-REGISTRATION will be available from 9:00 a.m. January 16th until February 13th at 9:00 a.m. by following the instructions at http://www.pdtca.org/pre-registration.html. PLEASE BE PREPARED TO PRESENT SOME IDENTIFICATION WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT A PRE-REGISTERED SESSION IN CASE YOU ARE ASKED FOR IT. Your ATA card will work.
PARTICIPANT FEES
A few sessions require a participant fee to pay for materials teachers need to participate in the session. The speakers will bring these materials to the session. Please be prepared to pay in CASH only and have the correct amount of the fee ready. A board member will collect the fee from you at the session door. If there is a fee, this will be shown in the session information.
EVALUATION FORMAT
The evaluation form is available through the evaluation link for each session in Sched. You do need to create a profile and be logged in to access the evaluation form, but you can view the schedule without logging in. You click on one of 3 faces to evaluate the session and you can leave a comment as well.
ONLINE HANDOUTS
Online handouts are available in Sched by clicking on the session title to reveal the details where you will find the handouts if there are any.
SESSION CAPACITY
Please note that if all the chairs in a session are full, the session is full to capacity. Please cooperate with this regulation which the Convention Board is expected to adhere to. Chairs may not be moved from one room to another.
REGISTERING FOR AN ATRF INTERVIEW AT CONVENTION
To book a personal pension interview go to http://www.pdtca.org/book-pension-interview.html. Interviews are not being held at the convention site, but you can book an appointment following the link on that page.
GLENBOW MUSEUM
The Glenbow Museum is closed due to renovations until 2025.
BELL MUSIC CENTRE
Studio Bell would be happy to offer a reduced rate of $15.00 when you show your ATA card during the convention.
Please note that Studio Bell’s hours of operation have changed and they are now open 12-7pm on Wednesday and Thursday. Hours of operation link
On Thursday, February 23rd they will have Black Future Month Programming at 1:00 pm.

ON-SITE BOOK VENDOR
Owl's Nest Books is our 2023 on-site book vendor. Their bookstore will be located in the Exhibits Area.
COFFEE/LUNCH SERVICES
Thomson’s Dining Room in the Hyatt Hotel is offering a delicious buffet special on both days of convention.
- Breakfast Buffet will be $22 Breakfast Buffet-6:30am-10:30am
- Lunch will be $25.00 Lunch Buffet-11:00am-1:00pm ** might stay open later depending on demand.
BANK MACHINE
The second floor of the Hyatt has a bank machine.
EXHIBITS HOURS OF OPERATION
Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m
BANNER
Make sure someone from your local brings your local banner for display at the convention.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Pre Con area at Ex Hall will be open at 7:30 a.m. both days.
Sessions: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and 8:30 a.m. - 2:15 pm on Friday A few sessions start at 8:00.
Trade show opens 8:00 a.m. each day and closes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
WIRELESS INTERNET
This year teachers will enjoy low bandwidth FREE wireless internet at both the Hyatt and the CTCC. The bandwidth will be great for checking emails but not for streaming video and music.

PDTCA will again be offering a free coat check outside Macleod Hall on both days - compliments of PDTCA.

Lost and found goes to the check in desk at the Hyatt or the main floor CTCC reception desk.

N.B.This is a closed convention for delegates only.
Please do not bring your spouse to the convention sessions. The general public, which includes parents, is also not allowed to attend. You are also reminded that the two days of convention are teaching days and therefore children should not attend.
