presenter information
If you are presenting live in Zoom and screen sharing a recorded video, remember that you can interact with the participants using Chat while your video is playing, or you can ask the moderator to turn the Chat off if you prefer.
Log into Sched and check your speaker profile and your session description. If you put a video stream in your speaker profile, please make sure it works.
Test your ability to connect before convention starts. Zoom offers for people to test their devices to see if they can connect. Click https://zoom.us/test to get to the test site you can join from. Once there click on the Join button and follow what happens on the screen.
Also important is to download the latest version of Zoom at https://zoom.us/download The one you need for your computer is right at the top of the page called ZOOM CLIENT FOR MEETINGS. There are features missing unless you have the latest version. There have been several new versions in January.

PRESENTER QUESTIONS:
This is my first time presenting at convention, and I'm wanting to ensure that I'm following all of the rules regarding a pre-recorded video.

Make sure you watch the link in the pdf as it has a Youtube video showing how to do Tubechop.
This is my first time presenting at convention, and I'm wanting to ensure that I'm following all of the rules regarding a pre-recorded video.
- Just to confirm, YouTube clips from another person cannot be included in my pre-recorded session, correct? We can include a screenshot of the video, and recommend that participants go to that video link and watch. Can clips be included at all?
- You can’t include You Tube videos in your presentation because then you make it your work, but you can share the link.
- You can share clips in mp4 or avi format as an attachment in Sched as long as the file is less than 50 MB.
- You can also put the links to Youtube videos in a pdf and add that pdf as an attachment in Sched and then teachers can have the pdf open and minimized or saved to their desktop and ready to click on the link you want them to see. They can just pause your video and watch the clip and then return to your video. There is a tool called Tubechop which lets you set the start and end of what you want teachers to watch and then you can post that in the pdf. Teachers can watch the short version or the whole thing if they wish. There is a link lower down illustrating how this looks in Sched.
- My presentation is referencing material from a text. Is that okay, as long as the author and reference is cited in the presentation for participants?
- If you are referencing part of the text you should be fine as it is for educational use.
- Also, we now have a business Vimeo account where we will be streaming your pre-recorded session from into Sched. Vimeo has no ads.
- We are adding a link from Sched last year where we have a video of a yard in flower where your session would be. Click on the Sched link below and if you scroll down you will see an avi clip and a pdf with a link it it. Hopefully this helps illustrate what is in words above. You would need to tell teachers what they are supposed to watch while they pause your pre-recorded session. The avi clip downloads and then you click on it to play. In Chrome it is at the bottom of your browser.
- You will be able to add the attachments in Sched once we have Sched ready. It does not take long to attach files if they are ready on you computer. Remember there is a 50MB limit per attachment.
